There are not many places in the world where you can see the big 5 and the Ocean. Addo Elephant National Park just so happens to be one of them. On a day where we saw surprisingly few elephants compared to usual on this reserve, and with time not on our side, we took to one of the longer and quieter loops. Out of the corner of my eye I spotted a lone bull in the distance and stopped to admire him. We stuck around for a few minutes, with little photo opportunity. We were about to move on and as luck would have it, this family heard passed him with purpose and made their way between patches of thicket. I drove parallel with them along the road and waited at a clearing hoping that a small opportunity may arise in which the herd may pass in front the Colechester dunes and Algoa Bay. Thankfully, this time the elephants played ball and with a small window I managed to get this panoramic shot as the herd trundled through at pace. Addo and the Eastern Cape is truly a special place.
